Coming up With Great Ideas for Gifts
It seems as though there is always some sort of occasion right around the corner that needs gifts: Mother’s Day, Father’s Day, birthdays, anniversaries, bridal showers, baby showers—the list seems endless. For some people, gift-giving is an annoyance because coming up with great ideas can sometimes be difficult. However, you should know that you can make gift-giving fun—you just have to be creative when coming up with your gift ideas.
Mother’s Day
We all know that this is one of the most important days of the year, because who really deserves more love and respect than the mothers of the world? There are some really fabulous Mother’s Day gifts that you can give her. How about a trip to the spa? Most moms don’t ever take the time to care about or pamper themselves, so this really is a great gift idea because it gives her one day to take herself to rest, relax, and be pampered.
Although the spa options offered will vary depending on where you live and what spa locations you have access to, you can always go with the tried and true spa gift certificate. Day spa deals are typically the best idea, as these typically include a facial, foot and hand rub, 60-minute body massage, and even often a manicure and pedicure. Additional services are usually available at an extra cost.
Baby Shower
Baby shower gifts can be especially fun. The most important thing to remember is it’s always a good idea to not only get something for the baby, but for the new mom as well. Toys and books are considerate gifts for when the baby is older, but there are other baby shower gifts to consider. Diapers and formula are great. These gifts are not just for baby but a great gift to help mom and dad save on the expense.
Baby shower gift baskets are always excellent gifts. You can either purchase a pre-packaged one from a store or you can spend a bit of extra time and make your own. This is a really great idea because then you can personalize it and make it that much more special.
Birthday
When it comes to giving birthday gifts, this is the easiest and most varied occasion. Knowing your friend better than anyone gives you the advantage of picking a gift you know they will absolutely love. Maybe your friend would want something personalized, or maybe they are a bit of a joker and would better appreciate a gag gift. Of course a special card should accompany any birthday gift. If it’s a milestone birthday, like a 30th or 40th, you might want to throw away the gag gift idea and get them something truly fantastic.
Christmas
If there is one holiday where gift-giving has become mandatory, it’s Christmas. This is the time of year when gifts flow back and forth like a raging river, and everyone is rushing around trying to find the perfect gift for that someone special. Christmas is really the time of year to put the most time and thought into your gifts. If you have a lot of people to buy for but not a lot of money, a good idea is to take some time and make yourself a gift-giving budget. That way you still won’t be paying off your Christmas shopping in June.
The most important thing to remember when giving gifts is the thought that goes into them. That’s what really matters.

There Are Facts You Should Know About Extreme Sport
Extreme sport tends to push the limitations of the human body, in order to cope with extraordinary conditions. This requires a high level of physical exertion and the necessity of facing the possibility of death. It would seem at times, that extreme sport appears to defy scientific laws. Extreme sports have become the domain of clever advertising marketers and clothes and equipment designers and is as varied as their imagination.
Extreme sport has a cult-type following, forming into a sub-culture. It has been marketed mainly to the affluent and thrill-seeking younger, disenchanted, generation. Marketing gurus have quickly recognized this as a Blue Moon Opportunity, (once in a lifetime opportunity).
Extreme sport requires an extremely high level of discipline and fitness of the body, as well as an acute discipline of the mind, for they often involve performing a death-defying stunt of some description. Deep diving without oxygen is a perfect example of this, based on the ‘Mammalian Diving reflex’, a technique used by whales and dolphins. At the extreme bottom of the freedive, in the ‘baracardia shirt’ a world renown diver’s heart beat was recorded to drop to as low as 9 beats per minute. In 2007, a German, Herbet Nitsche, was recorded to dive using a weighted sled, to a depth of 214 metres (702 feet).
The advertising marketers and designers make certain there are costly ‘toys’ that go with freediving, such as low profile masks, skin tight hydrophobic freedive suits, freedive fins etc. Underwater rugby and hockey have been developed by free diving enthusiasts.
For the television audience X Games were created. This involves a collection of extreme action sports which has become an annual event, with both summer and winter games.
There are a wide variety of accepted sports which were once classed as extreme sport. These include skiing, hang gliding, mountain and rock climbing. New extreme sports continue to evolve including riding the air waves on a board, snocross, ice climbing, and wingsuit flying. Now you can strap a human bodyinside a specially designed wingsuit and the body becomes shaped into an airfoil. Special feet and hand ‘wing’s created in the suit, allows the participant to glide several thousand feet. A conventional parachute is used to ensure the flyer lands safely.
Extreme sport continues to evolve through three major factors: expensive equipment and designer clothing and opposing the norm. Combined with video-music and the ability of advertising giants to push new frontiers to an experience-hungry thrill-seeking generation, extreme sport continues to expand. Perhaps there will come a time when there is a low-gravity, oxygen free giant step extreme sport on the moon.

Playing the Popular Sport of Chess Online
The game of chess is believed to have originated in India, from where it moved to Europe and the Middle East. The earliest literary reference to the game dates back to Persia in the fifth century A.D. It is among the most popular games that the world has known, and a mind-boggling number of people are aware of the rules of the game. Even the uninitiateds are familiar with the name of Garry Kasparov who achieved the highest rating by the World Chess Federation till date. As recently as September 2007, Vishwanathan Anand became the World Champion.
The game of chess required us to put on our thinking caps. Football and tennis may reveal the physical fitness of a sportsperson, but a well-played game of chess exhibits the mental agility of the player. The game may be slow, but enthusiasts will assert that it is not at all boring. The strategies and tactics that are utilized by the players reveal their skill at the game. Over the centuries, strategies of various kinds have been developed by expert chess players such as Philidor and Steinitz. Today, hundreds of chess books offer to help beginners learn the tricks of the game.
The kings of the past may have used the game to develop their strategy for war. Nowadays, it has transformed into a popular sport. Playing the game online has become quite an obsession. However, the basic principles remain unchanged. The chess player must still exercise foresight and caution before making a move. If one is looking to win, one cannot afford to make rash moves.
It would not be wrong to say that the Internet has fuelled a further craze for the game of chess. In the fast-paced world that we inhabit, it is often difficult to find a fellow enthusiast who has the time for a game. However, on turning to the online world, we can find other like-minded players. Alternatively, we can play against the computer itself. The rise of online chess has ensured that more and more people are beginning to fine tune their chess-playing skills.
We may read scores of books that tell us "How to Play Chess". We may seek advice from people who are fairly expert at the game. However, the best advice comes from actually playing the game. Those of us who are hooked to the online version of chess will testify that it has helped us hone our skills to a great extent.

How To Have Futurevision
A Vision is an inner picture that connects the heart, the mind, and present desires … to a future desired result. A strong crystallized vision will help you reach into the future and compel that vision to manifest itself into the present … as well as compel it to produce tangible evidence of its realization. Life Training can assist with Futurevision.
People with Vision see more in a walk around the block than others see in a trip around the world because they refused to be limited by their senses and are open to Life Training.
Helen Keller once said…”The only thing worse than not having sight is not having Vision.”
Let me explain. Two men, both seriously ill, occupied the same hospital room. One man was allowed to sit up in his bed for an hour each afternoon to help drain the fluid from his lungs. His bed was next to the room’s only window.
The other man had to spend all his time flat on his back. And even though there was a curtain between them, the men talked for hours every day. They talked about of their wives and families, their homes, their jobs, their involvement in the military service, where they had been on vacation. And every afternoon when the man in the bed by the window could sit up, he would pass the time by describing to his roommate all the things he could see outside the window.
The man in the other bed began to live for those one-hour periods where his world would be opened up by all the activity and color of the world outside.
The window overlooked a park with a lovely lake. Ducks and swans played on the water while children sailed their model boats. Young lovers walked arm in arm amidst flowers of every color of the rainbow. Huge oak trees graced the landscape, and a great view of the city skyline could be seen in the distance. As the man by the window described all this in extreme detail, the man on the other side of the room would close his eyes and imagine the beautiful scenes.
One warm afternoon the man by the window described a parade passing by. Although the other man couldn’t hear the band - he could see it in his mind’s eye as the gentleman by the window described it so well.
Days and weeks passed. One morning, the day nurse arrived to bring water for their baths only to find the lifeless body of the man by the window, who had died peacefully in his sleep. She called the hospital attendants to take the body away.
As soon as it seemed appropriate, the other man asked if he could be moved next to the window. The nurse was happy to make the switch, and after making sure he was comfortable, she left him alone. Slowly, painfully, he propped himself up on one elbow to take his first look at the world outside. Finally, he would have the joy of seeing it for himself. He strained to slowly turn to look out the window beside the bed. It faced a blank wall.
The man asked the nurse what could have compelled his deceased roommate who had described such wonderful things outside this window. The nurse responded that the man was blind and could not even see the wall. She said, “Maybe, he just wanted to encourage you.” That man didn’t have sight, but he did have Vision. He could not look out. But, he did have a good outlook!
John Lubbock once said, “What we see depends mainly on what we look for.”
And, what is it you are looking for? Are you able to see the forest for the trees? Are you so bogged down in today … that you’ve lost your Vision for the future? Do you feel “that seeing is believing” when in fact “believing is seeing?” Is your Vision more “now you see it now you don’t” than a true guiding light that always points you toward your dreams? How far along are you in your Life Training?
The truth is “What you see … what you have a Vision for … is what you get.” You have to believe it so much that the picture will become crystallized in your heart. It will then be pulled from the future into the present!
You cannot turn on the radio now without hearing a commercial advertising a new form of Vision correction. We’ve gone from glasses to bifocals … to trifocals … to no-line trifocals … and now into LASIK surgery, PRK, RK, AK, AL, and so on, and on and on! Vision correction for everybody!
Maybe we need to … metaphorically speaking … have some personal “life -vision”, Life Training correction! Are you, as far as your dream is concerned, nearsighted? You might be nearsighted if you have no problem seeing things up close but have trouble seeing things that are far away. Then you need to correct your Vision. You need to see past today. Yes … today’s decisions will impact tomorrow.
You have to “see” ahead and make decisions on what you see. I’m not talking about being a fortuneteller. When you have a clear Vision of what you desire in the future … you see it in your heart … that will affect all of your decisions today. It’s like a self-fulfilling prophecy. Your words and your actions will prophesy your future. When your words and actions align themselves with your vision … it takes on exponential strength.
A vision conceptualizes the end result and takes action. When a course correction is necessary … it’s made without reservation and without hesitation. You take one step … then another and your Vision will get clearer and clearer as you move toward it.
Yes, a Vision is, in one way, about the future. But a powerful principle that will help you have peak performance is to understand that vision is even more about the present. A real Vision is about what is happening “today”.
The strongest visions…. the clearest visions are “right-now” visions. The Vision will begin to extrapolate and bring the future into a present reality. Do something today that will take you closer to your Vision and expand your Life Training! See your future!

What is the meaning of happiness?
Happiness is an emotion that is characterized by a feeling of absolute contentment. It is the feeling of being where you should be, getting what you want and needing little else.
Happiness vs. PleasureIt is easy to confuse happiness with pleasure. But the two are not one. Pleasure is intense and as is the nature of all intense emotions, it is transient. Happiness is more enduring though mellow. Pleasure can result from any number of happy experiences. For instance, you get pleasure from eating your favorite chocolate or reading a fantastic book. Take away the experience and pleasure ends. On the other hand, happiness is the aggregate of a number of experiences. Therefore, it cannot be dashed in an instant.
What makes a person happy?
If you believe it is money, health, travel or a good figure, then you’re wrong. You can have all the wealth in the world and still be unhappy. In fact, research suggests that a surplus of wealth could be detrimental to feelings of lasting happiness unless that wealth is used in a meaningful manner. Different people get happiness in different ways. For some, it comes from having a fulfilling job or a satisfying relationship. For others, it could be the ability to deal with life’s challenges with equanimity. Whatever the source, one thing is certain: happiness is an attitude. It is the mindset that enables you to interpret things in a positive way. It is that particular feeling which puts a spring in your step and a smile on your face, for no apparent reason.
What is the importance of being happy?
If good food replenishes your body, happiness rejuvenates the mind. It restores your internal balance and equips you with the grit and energy to face another day. Happiness impacts every facet of a person’s life. Happier people are generally more successful, more productive and more balanced. They are healthier and stronger – physically as well as emotionally. A happy person lives longer, collects more friends and has greater chances of forging successful relationships with those around them.
Can happiness be controlled?
As mentioned before, happiness is the net result of a number of factors. Several factors like genetics and circumstances contribute to approximately 60% of your happiness. These factors cannot be controlled. However, the remaining 40% is within your control. Your thoughts, actions and goals, for instance, are your own. You can choose to interpret an experience as enriching, if you wish to do so. This in turn increases your happiness. The same incident becomes a continual source of pain when you choose to view it negatively. Many areas of your life are highly subjective like how you choose to interpret your past, how you choose to live your present and whether you feel you are doing enough to ensure a happy future. These factors contribute to your happiness, and they can be controlled.
As you can see, even though a degree of your happiness is beyond your control, a good part of it can be controlled. Fortunately, you can turn around your life by focusing on this part. By taking active control of this, you can lead a more enriched, successful and satisfying life.

Your Life - Your Responsibility
Your Life - Your Responsibility
I read again and again wherein the company, the person or the authority should take responsibility for someone's life. The only solution to freedom is that we take responsibility for our own lives.
Over the years, a variety of customers come to me with a lot of different challenges. They (the challenges) can have to do with to the economy, health, relationships, job or something else entirely. What most of them have, is a common challenge, which is the challenge to take responsibility for their own lives.
For the most part, everyone born in the US has the opportunity to do what they want with their lives. Some are born into money, while others are not, but we all can, with our will, take us to where we want to go with our own responsibility. Unfortunately, there are groups of people who do not have these opportunities, but they are a small minority who can not take care of themselves, and they need support from their surroundings.
Society has unfortunately been structured so that we will be cared for, and that we must abide by society's norms to fit in. Although the basic laws and regulations to secure a free country are needed, but when society takes responsibility for everything, the individual loses his natural instinct to take care of himself and his family.
Once we come to the point where society helps us to get jobs, make sure that we feel good, that we have money, etc., it is then that the individual loses all power and self-esteem needed to secure and enjoy their future. That is why it does not work with welfare and hand-outs, as every individual needs to take responsibility for his or her own life again.
Let me give you an example: We have Sam 50, who comes to me for help. Sam has been unemployed for 10 years and is dependent on welfare. Sam feels really bad and needs help to find himself again. The first thing I ask Sam is, if he is willing to take responsibility for his life again. Sam, a bit put off, asks what I mean. I think that if I can help Sam to find a meaningful way to spend his time, where he can start a business or get a job, that alone will ensure that he is working on growing his self-esteem and then Sam contributes to society rather than being a burden.
We are all responsible for our own economy, health and relationships. Sometimes, we may be adversely affected from outside, but it is still you and I who have responsibility for our own lives.
With this understanding, you have responsibility for what you think, say, think, feel and act. If you do not have a way that is working in order to have more balance and a job that you like, then it is your own responsibility to solve it. Of course, you can get help from the authorities, doctors, or anyone else, but it is ultimately only you who can ensure that you become happy and successful.
You create your own future, and you can create what you want. What do you choose?
1. Take a couple of hours and find out what you really want out of life
2. Are you the one who will make sure that it happens?
3. Is anyone else responsible for your success and balance in life?
There are individuals who have managed to get out of the most horrible situations through their own responsibility, while others have been born with a golden spoon in their mouths, and have made a shambles of their lives.
You hold your future in your hands.
Good Luck!

Adventure Club & Association
There are many outdoor adventure groups in Malaysia. While some are structured organizations, some groups are loosely based on small groups of friends. Here we will list for you some of the groups that we know of. But don’t take our word for it, best that you contact them personally to find out more. As it is, some of the groups are really choosy when it comes to accepting new members while some are just plain club.
Here are some of the outdoor adventure groups in Malaysia that we know of. If you know of any that is NOT on this list, do feel free to drop us a comment and we will look into it. (Listed in NO particular order)
Anak Hutan Consists mostly of friends, this Penang based adventure group climbs mountains and do just about any adventure activity they can land their hands on.
Gunung Online Gunung Online is a local Malaysian forum with members from all over. Most of them share the same passion of conquering mountains. A useful site for information and getting TIPS from some of the ‘gunung’ sifus’ around. Their ‘kedai’ page is also a popular place to sell and buy outdoor gear
Lafuma Malaysia’s own adventure blog It is only natural that an outdoor gear retailer like Lafuma organizes adventure trips for their members and customers. Here is a Lafuma Malaysia’s blogsite for their events, trips and activities.
Malaysia kayaking forum This forum site was set-up for kayaking enthusiasts. Sad to say though it has seen better days and has not been really active. In fact, its been some time that it has been down (inaccessible).
Penang Adventure Club This group started back in 1976 and is one of the oldest adventure club around. Though based in Penang, their activities and trips extends to other parts of the island. Some of their ‘signature’ programs are their yearly hikathon and kids camps.
Orang Gunung Kuala Lumpur Home to those who loves to conquer mountains. This is a registered organizations and has its roots traced to several other clubs which later merged to form what is today known as OGKL. A good site to gather information on your next mountain trip!
YK Low’s Malaysia Trekking blogspot This is Mr Low’s trekking adventure blogsite. A friendly person who is always open to having new friends join his trips.
Malaysian Nature Society Well…not an adventure group in its true sense but MNS consists of smaller groups with different interests. Some of the Special Interest Groups (SIGs) like caving, nature guides and diving sometimes offer some really interesting trips and adventures. So…look up their website under the ‘event’s section for some cool upcoming activities.
Kelab Kembara Malaysia Though this club is more of a Perodua Kembara owner’s club, one can still hook up with them for some of their activities. Though we can’t guarantee if you’d be greeted with open arms driving up to their meets in a Land Rover
